We don't yet have an HIV vaccine, but we have medications that can lessen symptoms and help prevent the spread of HIV and slow its progression. Yet we label the COVID shot, which lessens symptoms and helps prevent spread, as a vaccine. So why can't we say that we have an HIV vaccine?
