Julius Caesar wrote an autobiography while conquering Gaul. Is there a recommended or 'standard' English translation?

Henry Ford's Model T could run on gasoline and/or ethanol. Ethanol was banned during Prohibition and Ford eventually gave up the fight. Was Prohibition driven primarily by a need to curb alcohol drinking or did Standard Oil et al play a part in pushing for the ban?

Is dieting a 20th century phenomenon correlated to abundant, processed food (at least in the west)? Was obesity seen as a problem (if it existed) in the privileged/ruling classes of ancient cultures?

What did Roman technical education look like? Did architects & engineers attend 'college' of sorts, or did they undertake apprenticeships like, say, stonemasons?
