Wikipedia says Byzantine Iconoclasm was supported by the non-Greek people while Greeks were against it. Were there really an ethnic division like this? Is iconoclasm related to Muslim influence over the eastern regions?

How was the daily life of a Turkic steppe nomad in Middle Ages? They had stock animals so I assume they didn't need to hunt constantly. What would a man do whole day when a son was herding the sheep and the wife was tending the yurt?
