3d movies require two images for picture right? One for right eye, one for left. Terminator 2 only had one picture. How did they convert this to 3d? I don't understand the explanation, can you simplify it?

Watched a video on how mechanical clocks/watches still work. Still blows my mind that a mechanical device that can be as accurate as it is with time, doesn't make sense. Any people who understand the mechanics/physics understand how it can precise?
