The whole movie is basically a mystery. At the end of the movie you get the solution to that mystery. It goes downhill fast.

A naval officer (not a main character) joins his ship. This union does not go well for either of them. But I must admit that the end of the movie is literally smashing.

Man avoids long sentence. Movie is third awful pairing in a row of otherwise good director and big star. I’ve heard of it but not seen it, and it is a 0 on Rotten Tomatoes.
