[WP] When Perseus arrives on Medusa's Isle, he does not see a monster, but a depressed woman who killed her own sisters in a fit of madness. He doesn't wish to kill her, but all his efforts to break her curse bear no fruit. He does the only thing he can do for her now and grants her a merciful end.
