[WP] Humans have just entered the galactic community, using our patented versatility to make ourselves noticed. One thing, however, stands out about our culture: almost all of our scariest monsters are based off of ourselves, and a lot of aliens are getting worried about our species’ mental health.

[WP] A small town deep in the forest has a town dragon. Yep. His name’s Darryl, and he’s actually a really nice dude! He even married the mayor’s daughter with the mayor’s consent! However, a group of travelers not accustomed to giant beasts dropping by for groceries has just stopped in town. Uh-oh…

[WP] A Venom-esque symbiote crashes to Earth and bonds with you while you’re lost on a hike. Working together, you quickly find a way back to civilization. It seems like the perfect start to a superhero story. Once you get back home, though, it turns out that all they want is chocolate and cuddles.

[WP] 70 years ago, your grandpa befriended a young dragon living nearby. It’s kept an eye out for your family ever since. On your 18th birthday, while frustratedly looking for a cheap dorm room for college, it decides to drop by to lend a hand. Living with a dragon may be weird, but hey, it’s cheap!

[WP] When we made first contact, many aliens were rather disturbed at our nukes. Not that we had them, MAD was pretty much a Great Filter. No, it was our extensive portrayal of nukes. Fallout, 50’s pop, almost any apocalypse not caused by zombies; our fascination with worldwide nuclear fire is… odd.

[WP] Since you were 15, you’ve known of a cave in the forest by your sleepy hometown that leads to a parallel village in a fantasy world. You’ve become a regular there, stopping by every month or so to tell stories of your world and hearing ones from theirs. 25 years later, your kid finds the cave.
