[WP] To Elizabeth Brown, the mechanical workings of space craft seemed to just speak to her. Watching her tinker, fix, and upgrade everything from the small barges to the hulking capital class ships was akin to watching a virtuoso violinist or a master painter. Her masterpiece came in one day.

[WP] Experimenting with hyperdrive engines has always been a dangerous venture. Victor had the missing ring and pinky fingers on his right hand to prove it. Who is to say how he lost his left eye with the eye patch over it? Victor loved pushing the engines beyond approved (and legal) limits.

[WP] In my 10 years working alone in a Space Watch Station in the outer reaches of Known Space, all I ever had to care about was watching the vast expanse of nothingness, reporting transient spacecraft to Division HQ, and surfing the internet. Then she came into my sector.
