If you were in a heavy rainfall, high enough to not hear the rain hitting the ground, how would a loud noise in the distance sound? Would it sound the same as it would on a calm day, or would the interaction with the water droplets distort or change it somehow?

If we were able create a computer simulation, where it is advanced enough that users are able to assemble computers inside it, would it be possible to make a computer that is superior to the one running the sim? Like how people build computers in Minecraft, only way more advanced.
