[WP] 1,000 years ago Heaven fell to the demon invasion. Today, the demon ruler has opened portals from Heaven and Hell to Earth. However it's not for a final war, as many feared, but rather to establish embassies with human nations.

[WP] A new deep penetrating radar technology is developed that allows the direct imaging of planets through any thickness of atmosphere. When it is used to image the rocky core of Jupiter, structures can be seen there. Shortly thereafter, thousands of objects can be seen flying away from Jupiter.

[WP] As the tour continued, the terran scientist answered the visiting alien ambassador "Well, most of our highest yield crops are now due to some light genetic engineering". To which the alien ambassador replies "what does genetic engineering mean?"

[WP] Other species don't see us as Space Marines. They also don't see us as the Space Elves, Space Orcs, Space Dwarves, Space Giants, or even Space Gnomes. They do see us as something though: Space Goblins. We're always meddling and they would just like us to go away so they can get real work done.

[WP] As the first manned starship passed the heliopause at superluminal speeds everyone aboard was wracked with the most intense pain. Within minutes the pain subsided only to reveal what had happened. The crew was no longer human, but rather creatures from out of myth.

[WP] No civilization has ever successfully developed FTL technologies, but rather end up domesticating spaceborn creatures that naturally evolved FTL capabilities. Humanity bucks the trend by necessity by living in a region of space avoided by spaceborn creatures. Aliens of course, are disgusted.
