[WP] The Clouds had parted over the city and there stood a figure enveloped in light. It was the second coming, and nobody cared. Not a single person witnessed the figure's arrival. 'I must admit I'm a little disappointed, but I have a schedule to keep' the figure thought to themselves.

[WP] It is discovered that dark matter can be produced in small quantities in nuclear reactors and that dark matter can be used to manipulate the direction of entropy and flow of energy creating the basis of what we can consider magic in a science driven world (but few know this forbidden knowledge)

"The last fictional character" sounds like a book burning story where the characters die one by one as they try to escape their book where only a piece of one page survives leaving a character alone in their burnt wasteland. [WP]

It's a form of ghuric magic, also known as slave's magic. Noone knows its origins, but it is very chaotic magic... unstable. There is a powerful set of seals on the door where only those without fear and strong mental fortitude can enter. These seals are known as dread locks. The enemy is close .
