[WP] A scientist invents a time machine and decides to play it safe by travelling a mere 10 years into the future. When he/she arrives he/she find the world desolated and the people who still live just fighting to stay alive. What cataclysmic event could have possibly lead to this in a mere decade?

[WP] A time traveler goes back to September 1, 2001, hell bent on warning people of the coming terrorist attack. However, when he/she arrives, the traveler starts to ponder if the attack might just have to be allowed to happen after all.
