Why is there no bridge/tunnel spanning the Strait of Gibraltar (7 miles)? There are over 50 bridges in the world that are longer than that, and who knows how many tunnels.

Bikes have metal chains. Cars have thin metal ropes encased with molded plastic/rubber belts. Why don't both use the same kind? How is one superior on bikes and the other superior in cars.

Isn't it more likely that an asteroid will hit Cruithne (5km in diameter), sending it into a collision course with Earth, than an asteroid destroying the earth directly?

Is it true that most of the Earth's mass is in liquid form (not much water, but liquid)? And also most of a space station's weight is liquid (can't orbit at a low altitude without a lot of mass, and they would never carry useless weight)? And they hold onto their urine for this very reason?
