[WP] Aliens look through a telescope at earth, and due to the speed in which light travels, they see cavemen hunting and gathering. They send a small fleet down to invade thinking that the job would be easy, not realising that humans have now advanced further than the aliens themselves.

Apparently my great grandfathers friend was killed during ww2 when they were in Berlin, after stepping into a Russian owned ‘territory’. Was this a real thing that existed such as certain parts of Berlin claimed by certain countries? My grandad and his friend were English soldiers.
