[WP] Humans have always been endurance hunters. We can endure untold physical, psychological, and emotional trauma. Being so unexceptional, we are mocked by the intergalactic community until war shows how terrifying it is to simply... endure.

[WP] Every species to achieve interstellar travel is a prey species. They all also have a unified government due to natural herding/cooperation instincts. These traits used to be considered mandatory for a species to reach the stars, until humans join the fray.

[WP] Earth was an experiment to develop the deadliest killing machines science and nature could produce. Imagine the intergalactic community's surprise when they're experiment is domesticated into small, fluffy pets. Further, their masters appear to be unremarkable and physically unimpressive apes.
