[WP] the ship's crew seem to be faced with the ai of their ship taking over and holding them prisoner. They call their HQ who instead find the ai found evidence of mind contol in the crew and is just following protocall.

[EU] history is written by the victor. The depiction of orcs in middle earth as barbaric, hideous monsters was nothing but a heavy handed, racially-motivated caricature to make them look worse to future generations. And while I'm no sauron apologist, he didn't strut around in a giant spiky suit.
