(WP) As we made our way towards the site the night sky lit up as bright as day. The meteor had reached close enough to illuminate the sky which meant time was running out. We had only minutes left before passage to the sanctuary under the ice cap would be closed to the outside world indefinitely.

[WP] It was the day after, silence greeting the morning sun. There was no warning, sirens, public service announcement, nothing. I was in the basement when it happened. I spent the better part of the night trying to free myself. As I made it to the surface destruction and ruin was all that was left.
