[WP] There's a particular school of magic that is incredibly deadly, rightly revered and sometimes wrongly stigmatized - Flesh exchange. One uses a chunk of their own flesh to destroy a chunk of similar size in their opponent. If one knows exactly the right bit to remove, it can be scarily small.

By using carefully controlled swarms of satellites, you have made a tightly packed empire/fleet of Stellar Engines - Literal Star Ships.
