[WP] Everyone has a soulmate. The name of one's soulmate appears on their forearm sometime during their teenage years. You finally get yours at the age of 17, but there's something odd. Instead of one name, there's two, and they aren't written in the Latin alphabet or any other known Earthly script.

[WP] Everyone is born with a mark saying where they'll first meet their soulmate. Many people have their own home town, and some have far more exotic locations. Some unlucky sods are stuck with the incredibly vague "Earth." You never tell anybody what yours says. They would never believe you anyway.

[WP] You think you're just a regular dude until you cut yourself quite deeply by accident. Instead of blood and viscera, there are wires and metal. You aren't really angry, and knowing your boyfriend, you aren't even entirely surprised. You just wish he would have told you.

[WP] Everyone has a patch of skin somewhere on their bodies that exactly matches the normal skin of their soulmate (DNA is the same as the rest of the body, so no cheating that way). For many it's barely noticeable, some have an obviously different skin-tone. You have something rather different.

[WP] Your species is coming to discover that you're not the first race to inhabit the planet you're on. You're archeologist and come across a depiction of a small gun-toting mammal in a jumpsuit. You jump as you drop the object out of your paw and your ringed tail twitches 'How uncanny"

[WP] Humans weren't the first intelligent species on Earth. Far from it, in fact. We discover this when we join galactic civilization.

[WP] People expect the future to be either a shining Utopia or a desolate Dystopia. It is the year 3,000, and it is neither. People are still just kinda people, even though that word now includes more than just humans, and the technology is much more advanced though just as imperfect
