[WP] I saw the fear in her eyes. I saw the pain on her face. I saw her screaming at the police officer as she pointed at me. What I didn't see was how we were connected...I did not know her. Something deep inside me told me to run.

[WP] I had longed for this day, ached for it but knew I could never have it. I noticed her hair first, blowing in the wind...those deep amber curls bouncing as she walked were a dead giveaway but so was her laugh. She walked right by me yesterday, but that was impossible as I buried her 3 years ago.

[WP] I didn't realize it at the time but I was in trouble, deep trouble. I had barely been keeping my head above water at work and at home but was somehow managing. That late September morning , when I read those 5 little words in the text is what finally broke me.

[WP] I smelled her first but couldn't see anything as it was 3 o'clock in the morning and pitch dark. When you first awake there are a few seconds before your mind catches up....that was sped up that night when I suddenly felt the knife blade held close to my throat.

I didn't realize it at the time but I was in trouble. I was still going to work, still being a husband and a dad, still smiling on the outside but I was lost. It wasn't until the text that morning that I really began to understand I was in the fight of my life..

A crying little girl running through a shopping mall is likely to get peoples attention. What's also likely to get some attention is when she runs up to a police officer. Points in my direction and yells my dad is trying to hurt me.....only problem is she is not my daughter.
