[WP] Time travel has become pretty common. The problem is, you can't take anything with you. Your multigenerational family business is to provide safety deposits boxes for objects left behind as they wait for their owners to be born. The problem with this box is that the owner missed their birthday.

When humanity sent out Voyager, we included a plaque that tried to explain who we are, what we are capable of, and where to find us. When we encounter the first alien probe, all we find attached is a suicide note for a civilization. It begins, "By the time you read these lines, we'll be gone..."
