[WP] You know that occasional moment of perspective, where you look up and just for a moment feel complete gibbering panic that somehow, you've gotten so incredibly close to a star? Giant, uncontrolled nuclear reaction that can fry you in a heartbeat... terrifying, am I right? Or is that just me?

[WP] Earth's Interstellar Civilization knows of Humans only through the fossil record. If we had not already consumed most fossil fuels it would have been impossible for Earth's science and technology to develop without triggering climate collapse.
